Blaby LSA Community Sport and Physical Activity Grant


The Blaby Community Sport & Physical Activity Grant Scheme aims to support the development of local Sport and Physical Activity opportunities by offering financial assistance to community-based instructors and organisations with a goal of sustaining activities.


This is a one off funding opportunity to provide grants to eligible applicants until there is no funding left. The grant will fund up to 50% of the total cost of attending and completing a Physical Activity Instructors course or a Sports Officiating course to a maximum of £100. The grant can also be used to fund the purchasing of any equipment deemed essential to help improve the sustainability of Sport and Physical Activity clubs and groups within the Blaby District. Successful instructor/officiating course applicants are required to deliver and record 10 hours worth of Physical Activity sessions/officiating that benefits the Blaby District Sports Alliance or its partners and submit a case study with pictures when completed. Successful community group/club applicants are required to deliver and record 10 hours worth of Sport and Physical Activity that benefits Blaby District Local Sports Alliance or its partners and submit a case study when completed. This grant will be paid in two 50% payments when all evidence requirements have been submitted.

Your application will be assessed at the next available LSA meeting and you will be informed of the panels decisision shortly after. If you require a decision on your applcation before the next available LSA meeting please let us know on your form as we have an elected sub group that can assess your application and provide you with a decision within a shorter time frame. Blaby District Council Revenue Grant

The Revenue Grants Scheme helps Parish Councils, voluntary and not-for-profit community groups to develop projects, services or small capital projects that benefit the community.

Grants of up to £500 are available. Grants of up to £350 do not require matching funds but grants between £350 and £500 do require match funds.

Grants are decided on a quarterly basis. The remaining 2016/17 deadline for applications are Friday 26th August 2016, Friday 25th November 2016 and Friday 24th February 2017.

Blaby District Council Youth Grant

The Blaby District Youth Grants Scheme helps organisations that are developing activities/projects that make a positive difference to children and young people aged 8-19(or up to 24 with additional needs).

Applications for this grant must be for projects or services that support local health related priorties. Information about these priorities can be found on page 4 and 5 of the guidance notes below.

Grants are decided on a quarterly basis. The remaining 2016/17 deadlines for applications are Friday 26th August 2016, Friday 25th November 2016 and Friday 24th February 2017.
