Not only is Xplorer a fantastic family event, it is the perfect outdoor activity for primary and pre-school children.
Xplorer is a friendly navigation challenge that is educational and fun and gives children a sense of adventure as they explore the park to find the markers. It involves a healthy mix of physical activity and decision making that the participants can enjoy together.
Using a simple map the aim is to find a number of markers that are located around the park. At each marker children need to identify what is pictured and enjoy learning a fun fact to tell their friends. Older children will have fun competing against their friends whilst younger children will enjoy the excitement of successfully finding the markers.
Xplorer is perfect for children as they can have an adventure whilst running around in a safe and friendly environment.
Where can I take part in Xplorer?
We have five sites mapped across the Blaby District in which we will be able to deliver sessions at, these are:
- Bouskell Park
- Countesthorpe Community College
- Fosse Meadows
- Glen Parva Nature Reserve
- Mossdale Meadows.
Xplorer is a great opportunity for pupils to get active whilst learning basic map reading skills and understanding how to work effectively as a team. We have a variety of markers which have different themes so we are able to cater the sessions to link in with your curriculum.
